Business Linkage Programme
Through this programme we aim to promote business linkages between established business and emerging business with regards to tendering, access to finance and business opportunities. This system will hold tremendous advantages to big and small businesses alike.

VCE is currently busy with the development of a business accreditation system by which Affirmative Business Enterprises [ABE] type businesses can be rated. Through this system we will ensure that all ABE’s on our database complies to the following minimum criteria

  • It has the status of a legal entity
  • It qualifies as a true ABE [To avoid front companies]
  • It has the able to supply a specific product or service
  • It adheres to certain minimum standards with respect to
    • Quality
    • Delivery
    • Safety
  • Cost [Competitive pricing for goods and services will be required from accredited suppliers] 

We aim to formalize the accreditation system by means of a memorandum of agreement between all major role players in industry.

Umntwana – Safe Project 
A project to teach school children the basic rules of safety in and around the environment they live in. It comprises a coloring book with basic safety messages that will be distributed to GDE schools.

Business Development Centre
Vesco has developed a unique concept for the creation of an independent Vaal Business Development Centre in the Vaal. This concept is based on the very successful West Coast Business Development Centre model in Saldanha.

The strategic intend of the program is:

  • Entrepreneurial development
  • Creation, Growth/ expansion of established SMME’s
  • Promotion of local buying by Industry
  • Empowerment
  • Branding and changing perceptions of the Vaal 

An aim of the program is to assist clients in setting up new businesses [or, sometimes, radically transforming existing one]. The key feature, therefore, is the development of business ideas and its translation into viable ventures. Currently we are actively involved in discussions with a number of organizations that we have identified, with a view to obtain support for the idea. Sustainable feeding scheme

The plan presents an opportunity to address the basic needs of the Vaal Triangle’s people and will provide sufficient sustainable vegetables to provide the community with one free meal per day with the help of selected qualified church and NGO partners. The economic rational of the project is based on the commercial side of 65% of the top grade processed vegetables production and their donation the balance of the vegetables to partner organizations in the feeding scheme.

Mittal Steel South Africa- Science and Innovation Centre  
The aim of the project is to establish a centre of excellence which will provide facilities for both learners and educators to take science, maths and technology to new levels in secondary education. VCE will manage and operate the centre together with a steering committee.
